Hangukdrama is back!
hello! ^^ I'm thinking of reviving this space. Moved to hangukdrama.isgreat.org for a few months - I may be too lazy to export most of the past articles, so you can check out that site too ^^
Hangukdrama is divided into 2 parts:
for now, this space is dedicated to my learning journey. For the latest kpop news, check out the other site! ^^
At first, I was a little disappointed by the MV. It’s rather plain and lacking compared to the recent MVs with loads of special effects, storyline etc. But after watching it a 2nd time, I realised that THAT’s exactly what’s good and special about the MV! We get to concentrate on Taeyang’s dance moves – which are good enough on it’s own without any special stages.
(but is anyone else distracted by his 2 other clones? >.<)
You know that kind of feeling where you are already so used to something that you are unwilling to do without it even though you may not need it anymore? (okay that sentence sounds convoluted)
I feel insecure without subs on Korean shows and even though I can understand what’s going on more and more, I’m still unwilling to let go of subs. Between a subbed and non-subbed version, I’ll definitely go for the subbed ones. But I’m glad to say I finally took the step forward and watch an entire episode without subs!
Not that I have a choice. The subbed version wasn’t out yet and I REALLY want to watch it asap!!
So what am I talking about? – None other than new SBS variety show Strong Heart (강 심장)! ^^
I’m totally in love with that show right now and I guess I’ll always remember Strong Heart Ep 1 as my first ever Korean Variety show without subs
(how could I ever miss this show when GD’s a guest? XD)
오늘이 한글날입니다 ^^
Hangul Day is a national commemorative day in Korea to celebrate the birth of the Hangul Alphabet created by King Sejong. For those who are studying Korean, I’m sure you will be familiar with Hyun Woo Sun. He has created an amazing video in celebration of Hangul Day. ^^ (you can find my message at 1.04 heh)
It feels really amazing to know that there are so many people all over the world who loves Korean too ^^
I love google kr’s logo today! ^^
I’m sorry that it’s late at night~^^ I’m going to sleep too. It seems like I’ve uploaded too many pictures of Gaho so I’ll do you a small service (fanservice).. Seungri was doing monitoring for a variety programme called ‘Strong Heart’. He’s better than me. Variety programmes are difficult. It’s embarrassing. We’ll work hard for our music! Good night ^^
Gu Hye Sun is sure in the news alot these days – as an artist, director, model etc![]()
This morning, she was at the launch of a line of Premium coffee drinks by a collaboration between Korean’s Seoul Milk and Japan’s Doturu. The packaging is really pretty. Even though I’m no fan of coffee, it makes me wanna buy a bottle
Love shot with the Japanese CEO! XD

According to a source from YG, Big Bang will be concentrating on their Japan activities for the rest of the year. It is highly unlikely that they will appear as a group in Korea this year although they are still considering attending the ‘2009 Dream Concert’ that is going to be held in the World Cup Stadium on 10th October.
We will miss their presence in Korea, but at least they will be continuing on their individual activities in Korea.
- G-Dragon: Solo Album release on 18th August
- Tae Yang: Solo Album to be released in either September/October
- Dae Sung: Plans for solo album in 2009
- Sung Ri: Musical ‘Shouting’, Telecinema Episode 7 ‘My 19 years’
- TOP: KBS2’s IRIS airing in September
The boys will be releasing their 1st Japanese Album ‘Big Bang’ on 19th August! (one day after G-Dragon’s solo album!) They have expressed the wish that the album will be able to hit #1 in Japan’s music charts.
Looks like Big Bang has scored more than a 대박 (Big Hit) this year! XD

Gu Hye Sun has been enjoying high popularity not only in Korea, but also in Taiwan. When she visited Taiwan last month, she was greeted by a large number of fans at the airport.
In this issue of Vogue, she deviates from her usual style and sports an exotic hairstyle and fashion sense. Not everyone can carry it off but it looks great on her!

On 21st July, Singapore’s very own BOKU FILMS has signed an agreement with Korea, pledging an investment of 5 million dollars in the making of The Host 2. Never heard of them? They are the producers of the rather successful movie #Rule 1.
MDA will be contributing half of the investment: 2.5 million dollars.
This will be the greatest foreign investment that a korean movie has received to date. The previous record was held by vampire movie 박쥐 (Thirst) where Universal Pictures contributed 2.5 million dollars.
It’s great that Singapore is showing an increased interest in investing in Korean productions. Hopefully The Host 2 will prove to be as good as the first installment.
